Poireau is a traditionally fashioned French brandy wine made by blending aged pear brandy with lightly fermented pressed perry pears. In this rendition we have blended our 2 year aged pear eau de vie with the pressings of whole fruit fermented, miniature wild pears. These wild pears are an invasive species here in the Willamette Valley, growing as tall tree pear forests producing a massive array of colors, sizes and shapes. This high tannin brandy wine is well aged but never oaked offering a brighter aromatic side of these unusual pears, producing a rich and complex flavor profile that can be enjoyed as dessert or in cocktails.
